Thom R:

I have always loved engineering and know that I have a great deal of potential, but due to my neurodivergence, the mainstream education model and COVID, I have really struggled up until now.

I am now, however, at a stage where I feel optimistic about the future and have a vision of how my knowledge and skill can make a real impact given the right support...

Thom's Story

Thom is a remarkable student whose passion for engineering is matched only by his exceptional talent and dedication.  He consistently demonstrates a level of creativity, innovation, and technical prowess that is beyond his years.  He learns from challenges and set-backs and is looking forward to taking his talents into the world of medical engineering and bionics - the integration of engineering and artificial intelligence and neurological enhancement with AI.

The SMF is thrilled to be supporting Thom on his exciting journey and has organised the following support for him:

  • Prusa XL 3D Printer - kindly donated to Thom by Prusa

  • 4 x Prusa Filament rolls

  • Funding towards STEM resources to enable advancement of his technical engineering skills

Despite the many challenges that he has had to overcome, Thom's work showcases creativity, innovation, and technical prowess and we can't wait to see where his journey takes him!
